WASHINGTON, DC, August 7, 2007 - DreamCity Executive Director John Muller's new one-man play Mayor 4 Life has been selected along with six other new 30 minute plays as part of Bowie State University's 3rd annual Short Stack competition. All performances are FREE!
Mayor 4 Life will be performed at the Kennedy Center's Page-to-Stage Festival on Sunday, September 2nd at 2pm in the North Atrium Foyer as well as performed at the Thurgood Marshall Library on the campus of Bowie State University (14000 Jericho Rd. Bowie, MD) on September 13th and September 14th at 7:30pm. At this time the three prize-winning plays will be announced and the audience will choose their favorite. Come out and show your support for Mayor 4 Life!
In recent memory, no figure looms as large as Marion Barry Jr. in our local and in fact American folklore. He is an undeniable DC institution and the impetus for Mayor 4 Life.
DreamCity was founded in 2004 in an effort to return arts to the community and bring attention to the untold folklore of the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
